I am curious how many people in the Yakezie Community blog as your full-time gig. If you do, please respond and let me know how you did it. Perhaps a few main points of what you did to get there. If you haven't yet, but would like to, let me know what you are doing to make it happen. I am excited to hear your replies!

I have done internet marketing full time for about a year and a half now.  I have a lot of sites though, many of them extremely focused niche sites and I find that they do a ton better than a blog that has many topics.

It's certainly possible to make it rich with a single, broad blog – see getrichslowly, bargaineering, etc – but google is erratic and readers are fickle so I would much rather spread the risk across many sites.

If blogging full-time means on top of my full-time blog, then yes.  :)

There's was a stretch where I was only blogging maybe 20 hours a week on top of running my practice.   This past year I've really ramped it up as I try to grow my main site, my new insurance site, and also doing a lot more videos.   I'm scared to count, but I know I have to be putting in way more hours than I ever did.

The cool part about that though is that I'm enjoying every minute.   Cool

blogging full time is a slow, steady and a very long journey. the space is also more saturated today, but chances favor those who put in the time over the long haul.

that said, though i spent most of my time on my blog which has just under 8,000 subscribers, 99% of my online income comes from a portfolio of web businesses.

you can get the where you want to go quicker with niche focused websites as already mentioned. the key is to design systems that are self sustaining so that you can complete one project and move to the next one and keep parlaying success after success.

I run a blog ad business from home full time (30-50 hours a week depending on the week) and blog as my hobby for an additional 10-20 hours a week on top of that.  For the past couple of weeks, I've been finishing up my eBook and putting in even more time on that…so yes, I blog full time. Laugh

I don't blog full-time, but I definitely put in nearly full-time hours! I would hope one day that I'd be able to do this full-time.

I would say I put in about 20 hours a week blogging…and everything related to blogging/advertising.  I certainly am not a full time blogger when it comes to revenue…it would be extremely difficult to surpass income from my day job at this point in life, but Im always trying regardless.  I have 9 blogs right now, so if I did do it full time I truly think I could seriously increase the money coming in, but only so much time to work on my online ventures.

That is awesome! I checked out your site and it says that you bring in $6,000-$23,000 per month. How much of that is from your blog site alone? If you don't mind me asking…

9 Blogs! I don't know how I would keep track. I admire your ability to do that though.

I bring in $2000-$4000 a month with my blogs alone.  I have four of my own and co-own six others that we have staff writers for.  BFS and How I Make Money Blogging are my main money-makers of my four and the other six do pretty well for side sites (I keep 50% of those).

I don't blog full time, but since I write for 4 blogs it feels that way!! To handle all of the posts, I usually take a week to come up with ideas, then write, and schedule them out. If anything time sensitive comes out, I'll write about that and just move some scheduled posts around.

I was only blogging once a week, but now I am kicking it up a few notches. The blog I run is a bit different as it relates to a business and a product. I try to keep it informative while also relating to the product and the company. We had a small team which as now grown quite a bit so I have a lot of free time to work on the blog.

This is how I ended up on this awesome forum. Trying to understand blogging on a deeper level. I still only blog about one or two times a week im currently working on structure and style.

I'de love to change roles and blog on a full time basis! I guess that i, and a lot of others are too frightened to leave their job just in case it doesn't work out, especially in this economical climate were jobs are so hard so come by.

I don't blog full-time, but like most here, I put a ton of work into it. One day, I would love to be able to claim blogging/writing as my occupation, but that day is far off at this point.

For quite a while blogging was providing me with the large majority of my income although I never put in full-time hours.  I still consider blogger to be my main occupation but if it is going to provide me with a full-time income I'm going to have to put in a lot more hours.

I don't but it's really cool to hear that so many people do. That's definitely the dream, to blog full-time and live on an island somewhere without having to sit in a cubicle.

I blog full-time + overtime, but don't really get paid for it. So I'm probably not one to give advice, unless you want to take it as a guide of what to avoid. LOL Wink

It's amazing to see how much time people put into their blog. I would consider myself a part time blogger… it's a hobby, but one I really enjoy. I'd like to do it full time one day!
